Trip Overview

If you are new to canoeing or only have time for a short trip into beautiful Algonquin Park this is the perfect trip for you. Pack your own lunch or have us do it for you. This short, beginner trip is designed to be a no hassle way to experience an Algonquin Park canoe day trip.

This trip begins near any one of our three locations. Near the West Gate of Algonquin Park, you start from Smoke or Canoe Lake. Near the East Gate of Algonquin Park, the Shall Lake access point makes for a quieter starting point, while both the Sec Lake and Barron Canyon access points are popular destinations. From your chosen access point we will provide you with an itinerary of things to see and do on your day trip. In addition to good fishing and swimming options, each access has different scenery and its own outdoor uniqueness.

You can simply beetle around the main lake, eventually having lunch at a great cozy campsite. However, the adventurous can venture further along portages to surrounding lakes for an extended trip. Full details of these highlights and portages along with a map are provided in our customized trip plan.
